gently down the stream: this record was composed while i was living in california. at the time i spent allot of time hanging out near a specific quiet spot near the beach - a stream in fact that flowed into the ocean... there was always a strange display of color where the fresh drain water would meet with the briny salt water and when the tides were full the stream took on a much more intense quality right around where it became swallowed by the mighter body of water - it was always a great visual circus at play. anyway one day i decided to send out some floating paper boats i'd made and coated with wax in order to film them... this is where i got the idea for the title of the record and no doubt those floating objects have since made it around the world (hopefully like this music). it's an older style of mine that i don't adhere to but hopefully some of you listeners will still get a kick out of the 'classic' sounds therein.

this album was put out with the help of databloem. there are many many more great records available from the databloem webshop: www.databloem.com.

also if you buy the CD, you'll be entitled to a free download of this album! the digital download comes in your choice of mp3 and lossless flac formats(among others!).

about

the cover art was created by me, offthesky; the grass shapes therein are the same as used in the offthesky.com site - this is a single blade of famous 'kentucky bluegrass' that apparently is only 'blue' when one is looking at a field of it being blown in the wind at a certain point in the day- this bluegrass area is where i grew up and is infamous for it's monopoly on bourbon, horses and of course bluegrass music (well we share the roots of that famous appalachian music with tennessee & west virginia)
